I don't mind Dreamworks doing there own satirical work on stories already been told, but when they shoot for something original and fresh is what I feel works best for them. I think Jack White said it best when it comes to creativty and setting small deadlines to push yourself and work hard to accomplish your goals, which can also help spark creativty, but maybe that would work better for shorts, but I have to say with How To train your dragon, ratatouille, toy story 2, they all had really short deadlines and were full of really inspiring creativity
I heard about the full story of Mastermind and it sounded like a funny take on the usual nemesis story. Sure, short deadlines force you to be creative, but it's not very healthy workforce wise.
