You found it! I saw it only once because a friend told me that this film has a similar story with my thesis film. And then,I've tried not to see it to avoid a resemblance, but finally I saw it now.
I'll tell you my favorite film, "The man who planted trees" by Frédéric Back. Do you know this French animation? This film made me to be an animator. In class, can you say the original french title and the animator's name in French?
Mr Denis, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I am a little taken a back that such a professional animator wouldn't have a boarder world view of animation or animation history to know of folk like Michael Dudok de Wit & others. Have you ever been to the Annecy or Zagreb festivals? Or picked up some of the books on Oscar award winning animated short films & cinema?
Not disrespectful at all, there's a lot of great work and a lot of artists that I don't know of and no, I've never been to Annecy nor Zagreb, I would love to!
This made me tear up as well. It is such a simple film... beautiful in that way.
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time favourites! :)
ReplyDeleteSecond that. Its easily a favourite!

ReplyDeleteWhat I love about this film is that there's virtually no close ups yet you feel so much from it. Great short!
