Animation is a business

[Update]

from @VFXSoldier

One DD family loses it all. If you know of any job openings for them please email ajalberts11@hotmail.com

This is really messed up. If possible guys, try to have a plan B in case the animation job plans fall apart. I hope DD is helping that family out somehow.

As truly horrible this situation is, I have to say I'm not surprised things are ending up this way with Digital Domain. They have a history of screwing their employees over. My prayers go out to those families.

On a side note, I saw your argument with Amid on cartoon brew. I don't think I've ever seen a ego that large outside deviantart.

Well, in his defense, my first reply was strong, but I don't take that back, I really feel that his title was incredibly misplaced.

I knew someone at DD, they laid off everyone that day, over 200 people and closed the doors and that was it.

Sad. Tough if your have a family to support but at least they will provide some emotional support and encouragement to help you move on. Speaking from personal experience, its sh*t when you don't!

Do you have a link to the the cartoon brew discussion anonymous refers to? I could probably search for it through that blog but i'm too lazy :)
