Lighting by Roger Deakins for How to Train Your Dragon

Head over to the nytimes.com for a sweet article on the lighting process for Dreamworks' How to Train Your Dragon. There's also a cool clip called "Watching the Shadows". Go check it out!

I was really surprised to see how desaturated most of the shots are and some even seem way too grey but if Deakins helped out with the lighting, there must be an explanation to that. There probably is a progression in the use of colours and we probably havent seen the more vibrant shots from the end of the movie I guess. I am gonna watch it next week, Can't wait.
