Viva the 'Nam

Definitely explicit but funny GI Joe stop-motion that took 8 years to complete (clocking in at 108mins). Head over to Cinematical for clips!

Be prepared for the unexpected.

I'm big on having a Plan B and even Plan C regarding as many situations as I can. It has nothing to do with not being committed to Plan A, but I just like to be prepared. Some aspects in your life demand a Plan B, others not so much, but better safe than sorry, no?

So far I've been doing good except today, where a previously held commitment fell apart due to my inability to plan ahead enough for something unexpected. It is not my place nor intention to talk about the specifics of this situation, I just wanted to mention it and maybe this post can serve as a reminder to people (and myself) to be mindful of your surroundings and how you go about things. I know this sounds super vague and I should probably tie it in with something more animation specific (plan out your shots, be ready for unpredictable client notes, etc.), but for now let's keep it short.

Flipbooks and stuff by Rune Brandt Bennicke

Awesome site Flipbooks and stuff (thanks Saul for the tip!)! Lots of sweet 2D animation, go check it out!

Chapi Chapo 22 - Les Patins a Roulettes

My mom used to call me (and still does from time to time) "Chapi Chapo" and now that she's discovered youtube (they finally got a new computer) she sent me this clip. After hearing about it for so long, it's really funny to actually see it. And the fact that it is stop-motion and that I'm doing animation now is awesome foreshadowing. :)

Three Days - by Allison Rutland

Head over to allisonrutland.com and watch the awesome clip Three Days. As @Aziz pointed out (he knows me so well :) ) I love it! The animation is great, the acting is nice and subtle, the audio clip is not the typical over the top delivery, it's nuanced and has moments of silence, etc. So good!

New Image from Disney’s Rapunzel

Slashfilm got a new picture of Disney's Rapunzel. Of course it's getting not so nice reviews over at Cartoon Brew last time checked and they might talk about things like this:

But I really like that new pic. If the actual moving images are like that, what a look!
