Nintendo's Free Animation App for the DSi

The flipbook animation software, known as Moving Memo in Japan, is relatively simple to use, letting budding animators draw, record audio and upload their creations to the Flipnote Hatena web site.
...

DSi animators not willing to share their creations online can simply share them via built-in wireless or store them to an SD memory card.

J,
Ques? Im sold on just getting this ds just for this program, and to animate portability pocket sized to get ahead on shots.

Can this be like for example, you can hold the keyframe 4 frames, 2 frames the next and add breakdowns later? if it is or just close it ok, but if it is DOPE>> the light box is there tho thank god

I'll save up for it, w/ my lunch money.

Thnks for postin

I don't know more details, sorry. I have an R4 for my DS and animating on the go is fun, but this version has sound options which is really cool. But it's not enough to ditch/sell my DS and get a new one. Unless someone wants to buy my DS? :)

J,
Update , I picked it up .. Totally worth it. I dont know the max frames tho I past 300 just pushing blank pages. and as for the frame holds(move forward 4 frames for example) it doesnt show when it playblasts.. But maybe we can email the company to add that to an update to just be seeable because the frame is not drawn in just still show the earlier key to get the time perfect.

But for now, its the best. spacing and shape and time mastery on the go. Eat your heart out nine old men.

Thanks Herman for the update! No frame holds could be a pain though.

I found a work around , just insert blank page copy paste that key to hold what ever frames. Cool thing too is a camera feature that you can liqufiy smudge pictures like Photoshop to characture people and backgrounds cartoonize to copy on paper to get better at it..
